Problem

Mercy Relief is Singapore’s leading independent disaster relief agency. Since 2003, it has provided millions in aid to disaster survivors in 25 countries and has implemented over 50 long-term sustainability projects. For the last few years, Mercy Relief has observed World Humanitarian Day with a Ground Zero Run for Humanity. The 10K event challenges participants to experience what it’s like for survivors of a disaster, who often must travel long distances for urgent supplies. Runners carry relief packs weighing 10-15 lbs. (5-7 kilos), which after the race are distributed to families in need.

Solution

In parts of the route that don’t feel the sea breeze, the heat can be oppressive. That’s where a fan comes in. If it’s a Big Ass Fan, even better. A mobile Big Ass AirGo fan was rolled in to cool participants and spectators, and it made quite an impact. Positioned at the end of the course, it drew a crowd because of its powerful breeze and impressive appearance. Many took selfies. Mercy Relief volunteers appreciated the smooth delivery by Big Ass staff and the fan’s stability. A team of Big Ass staff participated in the run, too, helping make it an even bigger success.
