Located in the heart of the city, the Trader’s Hotel Kuala Lumpur offers spectacular views of the landmark Petronas Twin Towers, the KLCC Park and surrounding high-rises. One of hotel guests’ favorite places to enjoy those views is from the rooftop SkyBar, an open-air bar that is part nightclub, part bistro. It features signature cocktails and a signature feature: a swimming pool running down the center of the space. Because air conditioning was not an option at SkyBar, the Trader’s Hotel needed to find an alternative way to keep guests feeling cool and comfortable.
The Trader’s Hotel installed three Big Ass Powerfoil X fans in SkyBar, and the fans have exceeded expectations. Guests see the first fan at the entrance; the other two are located over the cocktail lounge and the dance floor, where cooling air movement is especially important. Hotel Director of Communications Theresa Goh says guests love them because of their size and the great job they do: “People are amazed at how cool the bar stays.” The hotel keeps the fans spinning 24 hours a day. “Guests can relax by the pool and stay cool, even in the hottest part of the day,” says Goh.
