Maintaining comfortable conditions in the maintenance shop at Walter P. Rawl & Sons vegetable production site in Pelion, S.C., was a challenge year round. During the summer, large translucent panels that allow daylight to enter contributed to heat gain. In the winter, heated air collected at the ceiling, leaving the shop floor as frigid as the outdoors.
Two 20-ft. (7.3m) Powerfoil®X fans improve summer shop conditions and employee comfort without the need for noisy, space-eating pedestal fans. In the winter the fans are run at a slower speed to push warm air down creating uniform temperatures.
